about the film
A global phenomenon, the manga Death Note sold more than 15 million copies and created a massive fan following worldwide. This breathtaking adventure has finally been adapted into two live-action feature films. Weary Shinigami (Death) drops a notebook in the human world where a genius picks it up. This was the notebook that determined people’s deaths. Thus, Light Yagami, an extremely bright, elite university student became the one to posses this God-like tool.
Light decides to use this to rid the world of evil and create an ideal world without criminals. Meanwhile, the ICPO (International Criminal Police Organization) has placed a mysterious detective called L in the Japanese police force to investigate a series of the criminal cases. L is renowned for his information gathering skills and now tightens the investigative screws over these cases, but Light, cleverly manipulating the notebook of death, tosses and shakes the investigation. The future of mankind is at the mercy of crucial and fierce battle between the two brains. Death Note is a film project of unprecented scale with two films of mind-boggling suspense where the notebook generates ballistic thrill and suspense. The time has come for Death Note to finally reveal its forbidden pages.
